Bagan is one of the richest archaeological sites in Burma, with over 5000 ancient monuments spread over an area of just 26 square miles. Bagan is also a traditional centre of Buddhist practice and philosophy and an incredible place to see. Ancient city Bagan located in the Mandalay Region of Myanmar from the 9th to 13th centuries. Bagan city was born when King Anawrahta took the throne by force in 1044. He unified the country, introduced Theravada Buddhism and began building Bagan’s first temple, the grand Shwezigon. Bagan was the capital of the Pagan Kingdom and boasted more than 10,000 Buddhist temples. The city was crushed in 1975, when an earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale damaged many of Bagan’s principal structures.

Bagan is one of the most popular tourist destination in the country. The City Bagan stands out not only for the number of religious edifices but also for the magnificent architecture of the buildings, and their contribution to Burmese temple design. The temples are perfectly dimensioned stylistic structure, a fusion of Mon and Indian architectural styles. Temples are built with bricks and plaster depicting iconographic images in stones and plaques with the main purpose of educating the people of the region in the religious ethos of Theravada Buddhism.

There are many ways to experience and enjoy the views of Bagan, by Hot Air Balloon, Bike, Horse Carriage, or on foot but the most interesting and the best way is standing on the top of a randomized temple and take pictures of the whole view.
